Foccers Help Required - Kwak ZZR 600
« on: 07 March 2012, 10:42:37 pm »
My old Kwak was dusted off and taken up to Rayburn600's at the weekend after spending 3 years in the back of the garage, after putting the battery back on the optimate over the last month and it saying everything was fine the news after Ray has looked at the bike is not so good.
As the new place doesnt have a garage I bought a spanky Bike cover from Nooj but what I didnt realise was that I should of sprayed the bike and things have got rusty and its not looking good.
The biek is misfiring and and the battery is fooked completely (optimate you lie) and will need

4 new spark plugs
4 new end caps
Battery
Front fork seal has gone
2 new tyres

This is just to get it into a state where I can get it in for an MOT and to see what else it will fail on.

It's an early model ZZR 600 D1 so the thing is, is it worth it? I wanted to get back on 2 wheels this year but maybe I won't.

I could buy all the parts and get them fitted but then what else will Mr MOT man find and will if anything else goes wrong on it it's  :\

THanks

Advice thoughts please?

Shaun,

could be good money after bad mate.

Remember what I was saying about the FZ6 and Versys? cheaper to run than a thou, handle much better than a thou, and will give you a grin from ear to ear.
The Versys would prolly suit you more tho cos of its leg room, find one to take out for a spin  8)

 :)

What about a SV650.  Or if you want go to WEMOTO and check out their prices for spares.

Sold my Versys a year ago Trev, I ran out of interest in bikes about 2 years ago, held on to it for a while to see if interest would return, and it cost me dearly! parked up in my damp garage all that time did it no favours.

I still cant get interested at the mo, but that may change after a couple of summers without a bike.

Ug, SVs are a little too short in the leg department mate, although I would have loved an SV100 naked when whites were almost giving them away, but I wouldnt be able to ride one for more than 30 mins. my knees wont allow it lol.
