centre stand?
« on: 15 April 2016, 10:15:46 am »
Someone mention on here about a knocking noise and someone said look at the centre stand. So I had a look at mine out of interest...

It's touching the left foot peg and gear linkage!!!

Well I don't like that! isn't there meant to be a rubber bit on the other side by exhaust. I can't work out how this is meant to be but the stand is nowhere near the exhaust on the right side?! What's going on here then?

There's meant to be a welded bracket on the stand with a rubber stop that rests against the exhaust bracket to stop it hitting.

See pic.

Yes, it looks like someone's decided to lighten your centrestand.

Hmm.. Any suggestions for a fix that doesn't involve a £50 'new' one?

Looks like it's too far over to the left to me, like it's twisted out of shape.

You could weld a bracket back on your stand, or take it off for the moment and rely on the sidestand while you wait for a cheaper one to come up on ebay.
