2004 Fazer 1000. now sold
« on: 22 February 2016, 03:46:36 pm »
Well i have had my fazer for almost 9 years now, much of that time i have spent on and off this site (mostly off for last few years) but it is time to sell. will be very sad to see it go, still belive its the best all rounder ever made but cant afford to run 2 bikes and my truck so something has to go. as i want to focus on track days for a bit the ZX9r will be staying and the fazer needs a new home.

most on here will know the fazer so i will skip to the important bits lol.

Fazer 1000 2004 in silver with black engine (best colour combo :P )
will post pics later when i get a chance but no doubt there are old ones knocking around here till then if your interested or just search Gumtree for it as its listed there in TA81QJ area
bike is mechanicly perfect, Exup serviced at least once a year and often 2-3 times for luck lol. new chain and sprockets last year and recent tyres to. battery is the Gel type (holds charge trough winter better).

Only real marks are on nose cone a scuff (cosmetic write off with scuff and broken mudguard) and a slight tear in seat where the join is at the front.
everything else is just age related , but it is in pretty good nic  :D

mods.... the list is long and i am sure i will forget some. most have been recommended here anyway lol

Full monty fitted by Mike with Air box mod
Blue Flame exhaust (twin port oval)
4 deg ignition advancer (plus original if wanted)
front forks had a full Ktec workover on internals
rear shock is currently full spec Nitron track but will be coming with the OE shock fitted not the Nitron as i will be selling that speratlely. the OE shock is very low miles as i put the Nitron on at the start of my ownership and has been serviced by nitron 3 times since then (i normally fully service it every 3 years)
new exup cables last year
fuzzy mirror mod
AIS removed
rear hugger fitted
yamaha belly pan and crash bungs
double bubble screen (can come with a street fighter cut down screen if wanted)
KnN filter with refresh kit
renthal bars
upgraded clutch springs
R1 gear leaver mod
speedo healer fitted
forks dropped 10mm
rear jacked 20mm
shorty leavers in black
stainless rad cover
givi top box and rack but may decide to put back on the grab rails and sell sepratley not sure yet.
i'm sure i have some spare knocking around to like oil filter and a few parts

now i'm sure i have forgotten some stuff but that covers the bulk of it i think

the bike is based in Burnham on sea somerset
has MOT till 9th july 2016
i'm asking £2050 ono. but this will not include the Nitron shock

Sadly my baby is now sold. New owner given a healthy shove in the foc-u direction though. I have no doubt at some point I will end up getting another 1...... Maybe a gen 21 when it comes out :p

Got a question, just looking through your history you mention a bike being in an accident but not mentioned here, is that a diff bike or this one? It said its a Cat C

Bike was a cosmetic write off about 4 years ago. Front mudguard was damaged and a scuff mark on left fairing and mirror.
Mudguard at the time was a carbon fiber one so the original was placed back on and the scuff mark covered with touch up pen.

For some reason this is showing on hpi as C and I'm trying to find original emails from insurance as they said cosmetic so should be D. Not that it make any actual difference in the use of the bike. But C seems to put people off and D less so. So would be nice if I got them to correct the mistake on hpi (day chance though after 4 years)

There is mention of it here but wasn't in the eBay ad. Hence buyer then trying to low ball price.
Bike is already adjusted in price for the accident and he felt his bid was to much. His choice and his loss.

Bike is 2250 ono
Any questions feel free to ask

Regardless cat C or D it's too expensive £1300-£1500 Is probably more intune to its value .

I'm that we clearly disagree. 2600 - 2700 would be about right on a 2004 with these mods. So 600 off that as cat c I fell is about right. Hence 2250 aiming for 2k.

I have to agree with cable tie :(  The bike has a lot of corrosion on nuts and bolts, swingarm, engine paint flaking and it's also a cat c. I wish you well with the sale, but maybe lower price a bit for a quick sale.
If it's broken, it's not fixed.

Cat D are valued 40% less, not sure with cat C tho maybe the same but I do no some insurance co will not touch Cat C bikes whatsoever and even tho they don't ask you it's past when you insure failure to disclose means legally if things go tits up your insure is void and that's there get out of jail card, failure to disclose.

All the details of the "crash" are on the site including photos of the damage if I remember. Bike stationary and car tapped the mudguard at under 5mph. Just enough to make me lose balance and drop it.

If you think for a fleeting moment that it damaged the frame from that your nuts.
This bike has been on this site since shortly after I got it. Nothing is being hidden or lied about.
4Th cat bike I have owned and never had trouble with insurance with any company I have used . and yes it's always been declared same as most of the mods.

Bennits said they pay 80% on cat bikes in the event of a full claim and 100% on partial claims. So not sure where you get 40% from

But more importantly, I'm not asking you to buy it or even forcing you to pay 2000 for it. So rather than try to screw with a sale your not interested in maybe you should keep your opinion about my sale to your self rather than imply I'm a liar.

I can see you have now edited your ebay advert, good, it will help avoid confusion with a buyer next time.

Im sure there was no mention of it here as I was looking at your bike last weekend and didn't read anything about a crash. I notice you edited your advert on 29th April, at the same time you posted how the buyer has pulled out (due to it being a Cat C), now its clearly in your advert.
If it was there before, I must have missed it but I read it a few times.

Also, if it wasn't previously in the eBay advert and the buyer made an offer based on that, I think he has a right to amend his offer in light of the new information. On the same token, you can't force him to pay the same when the bike is now different.

Just going off my memory here, but I'm sure when I scanned through your history you mentioned something about difficulties with your insurance/price going up.

I was interested in the bike, its nice and has some very good mods on it.
I asked you a question here earlier which you responded to, and put me off your bike for the price so I left your sale alone and didn't want to screw with it.
However I just checked in and noticed your last response to somebody else and thought I'll make another post as I don't see him implying your a liar, nobody has, but clearly things haven't been made clear enough :)

Good luck with the sale, nice bike!

The hiding info and bent frame remarks were made in a different post and I don't like to pollute other people's posts unless I'm doing it for their benefit.
The edit was title changed from sold to still for sale, also making clearer the actual damage caused i.e. mudguard replaced and the 2nd edit was lowering price to match the New eBay buy now.
I haven't forced anyone to purchase the bike and the buyer that pulled out hasn't been slagged off, he pulled out because I didn't place in the add it was a cat bike. In all honesty as I wrote the eBay add it didn't even cross my mind that it was a cat bike. It happened years ago and hasn't been an issue. But the seller was shown the scratch and told how it happened.
He then offered to continue the sale at a much reduced price. A lower price than I am willing to accept. Hence the seller low balling the price.

The price hike on insurance is because of a claim not the bike. My van and other bike insurance also went up due to that no fault claim and my old van getting written off while parked up at my house.
Doesn't matter if you keep your no claims bonus (i did in both cases) you have to declare a claim in the last 5 years with most company's even if it was in another class of vehicle or truck v bike.

The issue with the insurance company was simply because I had a full claim so the policy ended. At the time I thought it was they wouldn't insure that bike. And was kinda pissed at that. What it actually was is they wouldn't let that policy continue for the rest of that year.

I'm not sure why people feel the need to find fault and try to tear down a sale when they are not even interested in it.
