Doing a bit of that 'Ivanising' in April
« on: 28 January 2016, 05:13:59 pm »
With retirement from the day job looming, I'll be hitting the roads of Europe in May (in the motorhome, not the Fazer ;) ) but before that I'm visiting family in the UK and doing a bit of 'Ivanising' while I'm back there.

I'm in country from 24 April to 1 May and I already have 9 bikes lined up to work on during that time.  However, I may have scope to slot a few more in without upsetting the domestic harmony (got the missus with me this time!), so if you'd like to know more please drop me an e-mail (not a PM, please) to mikegreatorexAThotmail.com.  Please include your postcode to help me plan the art of the possible. :)

Cheers!

Mike

It's an Adria 670SC Matrix.  Five-berth, 7.3 mtrs long and based on the 2.3 Fiat Ducato/Alko chassis.  I won't be over in the motorhome this time but in May & June we'll be touring northern Spain, then heading up through France to Roscoff and taking the ferry over to Plymouth.

Spain, France and Germany - well, most of the European mainland - are so well set up for motorhomers, with the aires/areas/stellplatz to stop on for a night or two in transit.  Finding similar spots in the UK is so much more difficult, so any steers to good wildcamping places would be welcomed. :)

Thanks!

Hello Mike You did send me an e mail regarding doing a mod job on mine but I cant open it anymore and you said you needed to know who was interested by early Feb so you could buy the Ivans kits you will need. I said I would be able to get up to Bristol at end of April. Can you please get back to me if this is still possible. Sent you my e mail in Pm. Cheers mate. If its any good I would be looking at full monty, was going to have it last year but had to drop out and you said I was on the reserve list for future sessions  :)

For Ian Harris.

I tried replying to your e-mail via the forum system but it bounced.  Please e-mail me direct, not via the forum, if you're still interested.

Cheers!

Hi Mike

Finally got round to joining foc-u.. not before time... I am still extremely keen on your services (the full monty). Now I am a member  :) Here's hoping I can get others up north to join me and make it worth your visit. Failing that I would not think twice about travelling to you.

Cheers
Jim

Hi mike
I have to put a post on her
you did my bike 2 years ago and its still as sweet as it was when i pulled away from your
friends garage in the midlands.

I only had the slip on stage one and everybody on the day had the full monty.
for what i ride the bike it has suited me down to the ground.

The exup valve is still working as when you set it and the carbs are still balanced
i have only done 3k in 2 years on the bike.

i did find an arkrapovic exhaust with a removable baffler like new,it took me a year and a half.

Anybody on her in two minds in getting the mod done, just get it done as it will transform the bike completely
power is smoother mpg is 42-46 if you don't go nuts on your right wrist.
it should have been as yamaha should have made it from the factory.

mikes party trick is having your carbs in his hands in under 20 mins
that you have taken me most of the day.

again many thanks

jools

Hi Jools, good to hear from you again and thanks for the positive words.  Great to know your Fazer is still running so well. :)

To Tefer and the others up north who I've had to disappoint this time around, I'll do my best to make a trip up that way as soon as I can find the time and there are sufficient owners to make it worth the jaunt.

Cheers!

Mike

For anyone on the fence for this (now or in the future), I had my fazer full monied during mikes last trip to Scotland, and the difference was immediate and impressive. Worth every penny of the money and I'm getting many more smiles per mile nowadays :)

A day trip to Northern Ireland sounds lovely but it's more than a day's worth of travel from my home in Spain to your place. :)

Still, I'm retiring in a few weeks so who knows what I might decide to do with my free time in the future.

Good Idea. If enough of us can get together to make it worth Mike's time perhaps we might be able to persuade him to visit more often. Just a thought  :D

Maybe need to see an Admin and see if we could get a sticky. Not sure the best way to work a list though. If each person copied the old post then added there details?

The best way is to contact me direct by e-mail and I'll add your names to my waiting list. :)

I already have several in various parts of the UK who've missed out this time around but I keep details and contact those owners direct as soon as I can start putting together another trip.
