fzs 600 compared to fz6 s2 abs
« on: 07 November 2015, 01:56:37 pm »
Hello friendly FZ6 guys  :)

I need your help how fzs 600 compares to fz6 s2 abs?

My main question is which one would be better commuter in London, means lighter and sharper when filtering?

Cannot find any proper reviews and from collected information so far:

on the plus side for FZ6 S2 so far

- has ABS

minuses:

- FZ6 S2 has only one of the two front bulb headlights working on dipped beam? I may be wrong but I like my FZS 2 bulbs lights on configuration.
- Seat is not so comfty for FZ6 S2, exhaust heat also?
- suspension not sure which one is better do not care anyway that can be upgraded
- brakes even S2 still not so good if you do not trigger ABS.
- engine some drop in powerband around 6k not so smooth as carbed FZS

I may be completely wrong here really would like somebody that has both to comment?

Adrian Monk: Unless I'm wrong, which, you know, I'm not.

Fundamentally val before going into the rest of the differences i would say that straight away the fzs has more low/bottom end grunt and is therefore far better suited to town/city riding....the fz6 really needs kept high in the revs.....fzs is also a tad lower i believe.

Aint much in it handling wise either....fz6 has a wider rear tyre with obvious cornering advantages however in my experience the fzs turns in quicker.
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike

Sorry to dig this old thread up, but I'd be interested Val which way you went in the end.

I've been commuting into London on a 2003 FZS600 for nearly 6 years now, but alas the ULEZ is going mean upgrade time. A FZ6 S2 is the default replacement choice. If you're commuting into the very centre of London then surely the FZS600 is off the cards for the same ULEZ issue.
