Preposed £2000 extra tax per household to properly fund the NHS when they are giving £15 billion pounds of our hard earned money in foreign aid away every year. It's about time those supposedly running this country looked after there own people first.
They do look after their own people ------- the ones sitting right next to them in the commons

Why are they giving it all away to other countries as "foreign aid" when it feels like half the population of those (3rd world) countries are already IN the UK anyway!  :rolleyes

Logs are now 'green' if you burn them in an approved log burner

They are trying to implement that but for existing log burners/fires, dry wood is OK anyway. Its the damp stuff that spits, farts and smokes a lot.

At home we had an open fire and some wood - I think it was ash used to spit like mad, you would be watching some mothers do ave em and suddenly a red hot meteorite would come flying at you.
Thanks to constant colds as a kid I am now a perfect shot at living room distance from throwing the tissues into the fire from the sofa.

You notice Sharpie distances himself from his habits by saying as a kid
I heard tail he is still and dab hand at tissues into the fireplace.  :o :guitar :pokefun

Just be thankful one channel has bothered to cover the TT at all. As for Joidie kidd just how tall is that girl she's head and shoulders taller than the other presenters. She's apparently is one of the front runners to take over lead presenter of Top Gear.

I see she has bought the obligatory brand new leather jacket to present the shows...

She is apparently 6' 1" tall - most of the other presenters are ex riders and they tend to be about 5' tall.

I wondered how long it would be before a woman took over on the show :rolleyes

She's done a bit of car racing hasn't she, but I didn't know she was an expert on bike racing too! :eek

A new production company has taken over the coverage.

I guess that would explain why the brilliant intro music and the fantastic Steve Parrish & co aren't on it this year.

Yeah, I liked that music. One of the very few theme tunes I actually turned up the volume for.

Been recording a tv series on the London Live channel, and the other day this fella had been kidnapped and gone missing, then the next episode it looks like instead of going forward in sequence they just decided to go back to a random earlier episode?  :rolleyes

Foccin bridges in wind!! Went out for a ride today and obviosuly its quite windy, went from south to north over the humber bridge (tolls of the north side) with no issues, tried to come back 30 mins later only to be told at the toll that its closed to high sided vehicles which for some mad reason includes motorbikes!!
I was told to pull up in the car park to the left and either wait or make the 1 hour detour to drive round. It was 2.40 and I needed to be at school to pick my kids up at 3.30, I tried to explain that to no avail and then argued as to why there were motorbikes (and lorrys, caravansn trailers etc) coming across the northbound route and was just told they had ignored the signs..... so I ignored the moron employee and just rode across anyway. I might have a fine coming through the post soon but I wasn't the only person ignoring their stupid advice so hopefully nothing will come of it.
Just really winds me up, could understand it if I was an arctic or something but I'm on a bludy bike!

If an artic or a caravan tower ignored the sign then they are completely mad.

As for motorbikes being classed as "high sides" no, they are vulnerable to cross winds though so you should have listened. One gust blowing you into the central reservation (or worse) and your insurance company would have blown you away too.

I have been across the Humber Bridge in high winds on a motorbike. Pretty scary. Obviously I was leaning into the wind quite a bit, then I went by one of the bridge supports and even though I was ready for a sudden lack of wind I didn't get my reactions right and nearly swerved into the barrier. By the mid-point of the crossing I was thinking "shit, shit, shit" as I was hanging on for dear life.
So sometimes it may be wise not to ignore the road closure - and I know you were in a tight spot by needing to get to school etc - the other problem is when they also shut Goole bridge on the M62, the last time I got caught in that jam it took about 5 hours to get from Hull to Goole (I was in a lorry so unable to filter) so the diversion may or may not take an hour...
