I think it's more likely the value fell after the referendum because of fear that the economy would get much worse, and it has recovered slightly because they are expecting a soft Brexit. With the current state of the Tory party I expect it to bounce up and down like a knackered original Fazer shock.

Recovered so slightly it’s hardly noticeable.
Certainly tensions are rising in the Tory party, I think they are about ready to implode like a thrashed thou starved of oil.

I'll tell you what gets my goat (apart from political discussions, please, please VNA, start another thread for your diatribe), when you lose the good set of EXUP cables that have been poking you in the eye every time I go anywhere near the garage shelving, and have to buy some new ones. Knowing full well that the old ones will turn up within a month.

Not my diatribe Billy.  And VNA has never, and has no intention of ever starting any politcal thread, or political discussion.

You seem to be the one trying to start an arguement Billy.

Like I say I don't start political threads and I don't start political discussions.

Nope, just trying to stop this thread being so boring. I'm not even going to bite about being accused of trying to start an argument. I don't care, i'm just fed up with political comment taking over a thread I previously liked.

You can come up with any clever political answer to my comment above you like, but the fact still remains, you are spoiling this entertaining thread, and i'm not going to respond to any more of your comments on this subject.

You know what gets my goat, folks complaining about me starting political discussions on foc-u when I’ve never done any such thing.

What I do do, is step on right wing, fascist, racist and bigoted views whenever they pop up, and VNA (Very Nasty Andy) has a very bad habit of hammering his points home.

And of course, before I upset anybody with those comments, when you have slick operators like Jo Johnson MP (abusing his position of power) teaming up with the fascist Daily Mail (whom people don’t take seriously expect somehow, they soak up the bull shite) well you can understand that people can be taken in.

The other thing that gets my foccing goat is those slanting fruit and veg displays in supermarkets.  What the foc is that all about.  You pick up one tomato, and six others foccing roll off all over the aisle.  And as for fruit and veg in plastic packaging……………………………

Exactly we should have a vote if we want to kick them out of the UK------- finally- a racist bigoted populist view that VNA will agree with.

And forget paying for the wall because we get the scotts to pay for it of course !

Well no I don’t agree.  Though, England could have a vote to leave the UK itself, which would be fine.

But I’m not sure it would make sense for you.  One, today’s leaked government BREXIT report suggests that the only good BREXIT deal is to bin BREXIT and remain in the EU.  Every possible other option, just as I’ve said from the start will leave the UK, or in your scenario, England (and Wales?  You will take them with you, won’t you?) worse off.  Economic growth will stagnate with possible recession.

And on top of that if you break away from Scotland, well Scotland has been subsidising England for years.

Anyway, no need for a border, well that is as long as ye come to yer senses and bin BREXIT, as Scotland will be staying in the EU.

Ach, whatever, we’ll bung you some cash under oor foreign aid budget.

Ach, whatever, we’ll bung you some cash under oor foreign aid budget.
Taken from an article in the Spectator
Had the SNP achieved its stated ambition of ‘independence day’ in the spring of 2016, what would it be doing now? We don’t have to imagine. This week, the Scottish government published figures for its national finances. They show that the Scottish government spends £127 for every £100 it raises in tax — a ratio unequalled anywhere else in the developed world. It can do this because so much extra money is sent up from England. For every £100 spent per English head, £120 is spent on a Scottish one.
  Not being argumentative, just saying.
