Deals Gap is indeed over the Pond in the USA  8)

Have a chat with Luke or Ad the Bad on here ... they do it for a Holiday ...  I'll bet one of them will be along any minute soon :)

The Kit question is always a topic in these HOT locations ...

Riding can get too hot for safety sitting on top of the engine in 40c Temps.   Some months of the year down here in Spain you'll see touring nutters riding in Shorts and Flip Flops.  At the very least a Fabric Vented Suit with Internal Armour, boots and gloves has to make sense.  :\  in my opinion

Yes it was the tail of the dragon.
I would rather be comfortable when I ride. I know the risk and have been down before.

I saw but resisted any protection issue questions as its up to chap himself what he does as at 45 he is old enough to decide for himself, if you were much younger crashxl (teens / early 20s ) I might of had words as i would feel a little more protective as my kids are that age. And if you were in the uk then it would be my taxes that would be paying to put your skin back on.
This chap has clearly been a fan of the forum for some time as he has got the idea that we do like to show pictures of where we have been on our fazers.

Lovely pics. Shame we don't have much to compare in the UK, and what we do have would be wall to wall cops every sunny weekend.

I must admit I was a bit shocked at the lack of PPE, but each to their own. When ever I get my chain saw out, bike out, even petrol rotary mower out the PPE goes on. Petrol mower I hear you say... Even a small stone being kicked up by one of these hurts like fuck when it hits you on the big toe. If you don't want to wear it it's down to you. Plus I know what the Dragon is like and how it's bitten and burned other riders. The tree of shame is testament to that.  :eek

Here's me smashing up the Dragon a decade ago - with full PPE  :lol

Riders eye view of a straight bit.

Taking a break on the Cherohalo Skyway which is an equally awesome bit of track.

Luke's been a few more times than me but if money was no object I'd have been back there a few more times.
Some say that he eats habanero chilli peppers dipped in oil of capsaicin for extra bite and that his pyjamas are made from Nomex. All we know is, he's called Ad the Bad

don't you guys have nice mesh gear for hot weather.
remember a couple of years ago a USA guy posted pictures of his new summer gear.
very nice I commented wish we had them here.
it was a mixture of leather in vulnerable areas chest etc was partly mesh with fabric.
I don't know if you still can or not now.
found some here...

I got one of these. It was worth its weight in gold when temps get hot. Seeing Luke sweating his chods off in the 105+ temps... wearing leather!... priceless  :sun

Mine also came with 100% cyclone, waterproof, windproof out shell jacket. Both the inner liner and outer shell fit in the poachers pocket in the back of the mesh jacket. In terms of riding gear it's the most versatile bit of kit I have. With the quilted inner, mesh jacket and out shell combined you could wear this jacket in the Arctic. That's how good it is. Then when the snow melts, due to global warming, and the temps soar whip the shell and the liner out and you're good to go.
