Afternoon one and all.
Am in the throws of flogging my current bike and the FZ1n is my intended replacement (hopefully a 2008 model).
If the bike I buy does not have an aftermarket exhaust, I will be getting one fitted asap. I've seen a youtube video from a guy in the US showing how to remove the stock end can and he then drills out and removes the cat inside the pipe. Should this be done when fitting all aftermarket exhausts and does it make too much difference if you do not do it?
Also, any other pitfalls (in particular for this model) I should look out for when looking at a bike to buy?
Thanks
 :D

Don't think many peeps get that involved, just bung a new can on! I think it's more important to block the AIS breather pipe coming from the air box to stop all the popping on deacceleration.

And welcome to the site, lots of info and advice here :thumbup

Hi
Leaving the cat in the midpipe will help lowend torque but if you want maximum topend from the pipe you need to remove it. It adds about 3hp. Your choice.
Good choice btw
