Hermanji is here!
« on: 18 June 2015, 05:25:40 pm »
Hi all at FOC-U,

I'm a new owner, had an FZS600 (2002) for a nearly a week already. Love the bike.

I'm down in Devon and lovin the weather on the bike right now.

Need to do a couple of things to the bike to get her up to scratch but very happy so far.

Cheers

Hermanji

I've got to spray the front fairing blue among a few other tweaks, anyone know the colour for this bike?

2002 and 2003 are "Deep Purplish Blue Metallic C" DPBMC colour code: 0564
But they have foxeyes.
Yours has boxeyes and it might be a production year 2001. In that case the colour is "
Blueish Metallic C" BMC colour code: 0775

As the fairing is not the original could it have been a foxeye from new and repaired with a boxeye fairing?  Just a thought before any paint is bought.

The model code on the label on the crossmember behind the battery tells you the year:
2001 is 5DMC or 5DMD
2002 is 5RT1 or 5RT2
2003 is 5RT4 or 5RT5

"I've got to spray the front fairing blue"

As said before, welcome to the madhouse.

But why paint the front fairing blue?
Red is way the fastest colour, as you can tell, it's way out in front of the rest of the slow blue colour :lol

Only looks like the front fairing is off a different bike in my opinion, there should be a code on a sticker under the seat near the battery, if you get that, that would help in your search :) but as said before it could be a late 2001 but registered in 2002 hence the plate.

Thanks all, I'll check under the seat. I'm pretty sure this is a 2001 production, 2002 registered so probably the lighter shade. Anyway... I'll post some picks later this summer when I get round to painting her up. I'm getting new wider / higher bars too - probably renthal mediums... IN BLUE!

I like blue.

So if your interested, I painted my fairing and replaced the handle bars for Renthal medium risers. Now very comfy and does't look an eyesore bombing down the A38! Not the best paint job or colour match but I'm happy for a first attempt at a metallic candy.

Bars adjusted back a bit and bar ends fitted after, but you get the general idea
