Not today but over the weekend I painted and fitted my new hugger, it doesn't quite fit exactly so I've got to do some modifications but other than that I'm really happy with it.

ive been tempted to paint mine but as its carbon (my first ever piece of carbon or carbon effect) im not sure or not
- prob should take it off have a look and see if i can clearcoat it for a better shine

I would have preferred carbon but it was just soo much more costly.
You could try giving it a polish with some Tcut or something similar then use some polishing wax, thats if it was shiny in the first place otherwise yes a coating of Lacquer would probably be your best bet.

In the spirit of the previous post, gave myself and the Fazer (and the Tracer) some elbow room by punting my old TDM 850 on Ebay. Got the price I wanted, from a very happy bloke who now has three of the things AND a TDM900. Happy days all round....
Of course I now only have to turn my back for two minutes to find that m'wife and kids have filled the space created with THEIR crap....

Not so much today but ongoing, s/h Oxford luggage picked up from evilbay cleaned up and proofed, came up better than I thought, to add to top box for storage, crash bars fitted thanks to the engineers at work, Peterborough MCN show in a fortnight to find overtrousers and a tank bag and have a good nose around.

The plan still to head towards Inverness and a week of touring around the NC500 in August, A1, Scotch Corner, Penrith, Carlisle, round Glasgow and Edinburgh and straight up the middle via a stop off at possibly the best place in the world - Bruar Falls.
Ex - FZS600 ‘03,  now Versys 650 '14
Status S2, GB Shuttle 6.0,TC Helicon, Cubase an' other stuff

- Finished the top end rebuild (again) reset the carbs as only running on three fitted a new chain and sprockets and sprocket nut
- Got the koso style speedo all wired up fired up and found myself doing 100+ through my village so went out with a tomtom and calibrated the speedo
- Got dominator headlights in vertical stacks now
- Exhaust leaking where the linkpipe goes into oem exhaust so filled it with steel putty stuff and its worked a treat (cant afford full FUEL exhaust system yet)
just in time for this weekends festivities
would be crack open a beer time getting all the work finished but its only 10:30 so time for a cuppa

Ordered a set of 30mm bar risers-hope that the brake hoses will reach new position-if not will purchase longer ones.

Pondered what tyres to fit to it.
It's been sat in a dining room for 3 years. So it's out with the new and on with new rubber.
But what rubber I wonder?

Yesterday my engine crash bars arrived, so I worked through my lunch and finished work early so I had plenty of time to get them fitted before going out. No fitting instructions so it was all guess work but I think I did alright however I did have to use some different longer bolts in a couple of areas.

Cheers buddy, but mine have a load more fiddily bits that you have to line up and tighten before actually getting to bolt it to the bike, yours look soo much easier to fit. I tried googling for instructions for them but even after finding out who make them they don't have instructions, which is quite suprising as it's a German company and the Germans are normally on the ball when it comes to manuals and technical information. I might when I get a free weekend, take them off and do a how to fit video on YouTube.

I just found a FZS400 headlight for 80 GBP!
Also found a blue spot rear caliper for 27 GBP!

Ordered from Russia. Let's see when it arrives.

Balanced the carbs using my new Morgan Carbtune, which is really easy to use and I'm really happy with. They were a mile out so hopefully it'll run a bit smoother now.

I took the Fazer for its MOT this morning. It sailed through with no advisories, so I'm a happy bunny today. Also the bike's running much better since I balanced the carbs last weekend.

Next trip is up to Snetterton at the weekend, which'll be the first properly long run since I got the bike last year.

Put some miles on it!

MOT next week. Not worried about it as it's running spot on.

Chris

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.
