R1 / gen1 wheels
« on: 06 May 2015, 08:25:24 pm »
There must be a guru on here that possesses the knowledge!

Are any of the R1 wheels compatible with the gen 1 wheels?

I've got sports tyres on the Fazer, and s/t tyres on the R1 (2001 fjj model) and wondered if the wheels could be swapped to make better use of my rubber ;)

I believe the fronts are identical as is the R6, the rear on the R1 is a bit wider to accommodate the 190 section tyre. It can be made to fit the Fazer with different spacers, not sure if it needs any other work. The R6 rear wheel might fit as its for a 180 section tyre as well, you'd need to check spacers etc though.

Jim.

as has been said the fronts are a straight swap but fazer has a different size rear disc for starters.
like anything it can be done with enough work.
