separate forums?
« on: 03 April 2015, 06:52:41 pm »
Didnt know how to head this as I'm fairly new to focland, so might be wrong heading.

But was wondering why there isn't general forums?

Surely grabbing the help of every foccer is better than just across the same type of bike?

I see exhaust problems just in carb fazer forum and also things like topbox queries in the same,  surely these are topics for everyone?

Fair enough having separate forums for specific bikes is good, like for carb tuning etc

Btw, I really love the help I've had so far and would like to input more as time progresses with my fzs600

Oh, nearly forgot, I use a smartphone on android, don't know if it's any different on a laptop?

Cheers,
Colin.

Hey Colin

there is the general section for all that stuff but sometimes it seems that some folk like discussing within their own group ie 600/thou section regardless of how specific the queery is.

& theres loads of folk on here with non fazer bikes that have hung around after previously owning a fazer.

then of course there are individual threads for other stuff such as the "what did you with whatever else you got" set up by Christo when he got a ticking off for graffiti about Peugeot 106's in the fazer thread :lol

And your endless "recommend me a bike" threads, just for you to get another Fazer - muppet.  :lol :lol

I tend to click on "Recent Unread topics" whenever I log on - so I see everything new. If a Thou thread interests me, I'll follow it. Simple.  :D

So Noggy, should I be posting in general then as apposed to the type of bike I've got with general stuff as I really don't see much 'bike' stuff in there when I looked.
Cheers

It is only the good rider who can take the red Fazers to their limits and appreciated them. :lol :lol :lol

Click on Forum on the tabs at the top, select the appropriate topic area and away you go.

Christo is best ignored, he is a wannabe Red Fazer Owner, but he cannot ride well enough yet  :rollin :rollin :rollin

Hey buddy, welcome to the asylum.
:D

The separate forums is to keep all the expertise on a certain model really handy.
Falcon is a thou genius, but his expertise on thou jetting isn't really that relevant to someone with an FZ6, so to stop general getting clogged up with things we keep it localised so someone like Mike can have a quick look and help with specific questions.

Which panniers/leathers/coolant type questions tend to end up in General as they're relevant to all, but some manufacturers don't produce a link pipe for a boxeye but they do for a Gen 2 thou, so better to ask people with experience of your model rather than be given false info by someone who didn't realise that that was the case.

If you haven't already done so, have a wee look in the events section and get yourself along to a meet.
They're a strange bunch, but on the whole they're fairly sound.
:p

I think ive fitted in quite well to this asylum lol
Yeah I got the feeling that was the case, I was just finding my way about it when I asked as I'd never used the general forum, but now I can see the difference,  takes getting used to I suppose.
Would love to get along to a foccin meet, but I'm in Glasgow and not seen many north if the border yet, although I think there's one in Lanark, so need to find out when and where and drop on in sometime :-)
Btw, I love this forum as people are so helpful and hopefully I'll be able to put back in what I've gotten put so far, cheers.

I don't have a problem with buying a beer, how many straws would you want with it though?

There are loads of us from around the 'Weeg mate.
I'm not around so much now, the living in Auckland rather than Kirky means nipping along to Castlecary for a pie and pint is a bit TOO long for me.
;)

Stick a post up in events, Neily is along in Bonnybrig, Gringo and Mick are out in Dumbarton, Looney is down toward the borders but there are loads around.
I reckon they'll be popping up more now the weather is on the change, just lazy I reckon.
:D
