Need brighter bulbs for dash lights
« on: 25 March 2015, 09:57:03 pm »
Hi, just done the dashlight mod but it's not as bright as it was previously,  all lights are working, but they just don't seem bright enough, any ideas?
Before is the green, after is the red.

I went with blue bulbs and found it harder to see everything on the dash.

Just took them out and fitted the originals again, and put the blue ones where they belong... in the bin.

A mate a work took the clocks out of his mini and fitted white led bulbs, with extra, complete with extra resistors and the like (I know nothing about electronics!) and they were fantastic. I might in the future get him to do my clocks in the same way as they can seem a little dull.

Here's the originals on the left, new ones on the right, think I realise now the new ones don't spread the colour so well, so will need to scrap the led effect and get bulbs like the old style but in red.
Something like the 2nd pic on fleebay.
