New kid on the block with query
« on: 27 January 2015, 11:14:41 am »
Hello,

I had my 2003 FZS1000 for over a year now. Great machine, especially when revved.
Before that I loved my 1996 Diversion 600, my first bike. No comparison though.
I am 6 ft 4, my wife is 5 ft 9. She is not comfortable riding pillion because of the position of the foot pegs.
Therefor I thought I would pick a few of your brains on lowering the pillion pegs.
I came across this post:

The wife was getting cramp on the pillion.
So I made some Rear Footrest Hangers that moved the footrests forward 50mm and down 50mm
you can get the 30mm x 5mm steel strip 1M long from the larger B&Q's

Could make a real difference as I am trying to get my better half on more trips.

A few questions:What do you use as spacers between the new bracket and the original hanger?Do you tighten the new capscrews until the hanger hits the capscrew underneath?Or am I missing something alltogether? Why do you need two different diameter holes again?

Thanx for the input guys!
