Problems with a gen 1.
« on: 19 December 2014, 02:04:02 pm »
Started my bike as normal this morning, as I ride away the right indicator went on ( not flashing ) I put on that indicator and the fault went away, got to work and switched the ignition off and the bike was still running including the lights being on and the instruments working, I have been out several times and it is the same and I have to cut the bike out with the kill switch and leave the bike in gear, is there any known issues that can cause this on the fazer? I'm hoping the switch isn't broke.

I would say ignition barrel. Had a similar problem and started by swapping the indicator relay but the bike still wouldn't switch off properly with the key so I whacked some WD40 in the barrel and all was fine for a couple of days and then it started happening again so I swapped out the ignition barrel and all good since.
Just flapping about on this stagnant little pond on the outer rim of the internet.....yup....  :-))
