Funny i tried that with the 1/2 set i have here and couln't get the angle rite to get the socket on cleanly hence the spanner was used perhaps with a 3/8 or 1/4 drive set the smaller dia tool will allow better access

I found with that bolt it was easier to hold the nut with a spanner and get someone to undo the other side with the ratchet, much better access and had no problems.
Not recommended for all of them though, think one of the bolts has a really shallow head...

Hi Devilsyam just joined the site. I have just traded up from a 600fazer to a very clean 03 1000 gen1with23000 miles. The shock is on the highest preload and is not great so its time to change it . Can you get in touch with me regarding  buying r6 shock upgrade. I live in Ireland.
Regards Rafer

Just an update to my R6 shock mod. Up early yesterday and went on a long spin 200 miles ,A and B roads. I set front suspension back to standard settings as per Devilsyam's suggestion. The only way to describe how the bike felt is surefooted and planted.First 100 miles were dry and the bike went where I pointed it,tracked the road lovely. I'm no racer but at the same time I like to press on, at no time did the bike wallow or weave as it would with the old unit. I have Pilot road 3's on the bike and coupled with the R6 shock , the 2nd 100 miles were  bliss. I don't mind driving in the rain and I am already impressed with the P R 3s, the R6 just  improved the feeling in the wet, I have never felt so surefooted in the rain. A big thank you to Luke (Devilsyam) for all the work on the shock project and supplying it and the stainless dogbones. As Mods go this one is a lot of bang for your bucks.
