If you can deliver it to me in Sussex, I will give you £10 as I need something to put books and DVD's in at our other house.

I'll tell you exactly what it is...its from the early 19th century from Burma and is quite rare. I know as my uncle had an reproduction one and by the look of the hinges it is original and in fair condition and is probably worth 10-12k....good find mate :thumbup

its worth whatever you are/were prepared to pay for it.

My house is worth £3,000,000,000,000 to me but similar houses in the same road are only selling for £3.50 as that's all other people want to spend.

Antique furniture prices are on the floor, as they have been for about 7 years,,in ten years it may be worth 5 times what you would get for it now.

But antique metal,,,well

Looking at the style probably 19th century. Teakwood inlaid Iron clad Rajasthani doors. The embossed lion motifs make it pretty pleasing to the eye and make it look a lot older than it probably is. Looks like recycled teak carcass.

Origin could be anywhere from Rajasthan to Tibet or far east but not as far as China or Japan. If it looks easy to dismantle it will date it even later which would make it reproduction.

Price anything from £250 - £2,000... I've also seen repro's priced up more than antiques.

How much did you pay for it?

Some say that he eats habanero chilli peppers dipped in oil of capsaicin for extra bite and that his pyjamas are made from Nomex. All we know is, he's called Ad the Bad

looks a bit new to me, don't like the catch to hold the doors shut, there should be lots of wear on that as it has to be turned every time it's used?

That's obviously because unlike buying one of the neighbouring houses, anyone buying your house won't end up having you as a neighbour....  ;)
