"Excellent Condition" I don't think so
« on: 11 July 2014, 08:45:43 pm »
I'm looking for another Foxeye. Saw this one advertised as Excellent Condition. As it was 150 miles from me I asked for some close up pictures. Just as well. His idea of Excellent Condition and mine are somewhat different.
The surface paint flaking might only be superficial, but the advert is deceiving.

Spent the last couple of weeks looking at bikes and come across much the same, worst was a bike described as "stunning" that had a similar amount of corrosion to the pics above  I drove 120 miles to see that one although it made a nice day out in Cornwall , plus one with 11k genuine mileage but the MOT history showed 22k and 25k four years ago so had obviously had new clocks!

I was also surprised at the bikes that hadn't even been cleaned prior to an arranged viewing, no wonder my bikes always sell quickly and to the first person who comes to look!

Anyway eventually found a CBF600 hiding away in a small dealer, selling on behalf of a customer, very good nick, 2007 reg, FSH and a genuine 5k miles on the clock! Negotiated a mini service, 12 months MOT for 2k all in, I know it's not a Fazer, but I've had five of them and just fancied something different and a little less frantic, also one that I can bling up, I've added all the extras to nearly all of my Fazers and then sold them with them all fitted and just couldn't face buying another exhaust/rad cover/hugger for a Fazer, I pick the CBF up at the end of next week and am looking forward to it, pic below, Jonesy

Did you get a test ride of the CBF. I had a CBF1000A for 6 months. I couldn't get on with the handlebar buzzing. They reckon it came from the fairing. Tried draught excluder in all the joints but could not get it down to an acceptable level so it had to go.

Yes, took the photo above while on the test ride, mines a naked version so no fairing, I found it incredibly smooth to ride, seemed like you could put in top at 30Mph and just leave it there, took the bike up to a bit above the speed limit and couldn't feel any buzz in the bars, I did notice that it is fitted with extra thick grips so may be that it does buzz and the previous owner found a work around
