What make/model is this CNC lever?
« on: 04 July 2014, 01:47:35 pm »
Does anyone know what make/model the following lever is, its as the characters "AS-521" stamped on it but I can't find anything online that matches it. The critical thing is this one has a roller bearing under the adjuster cam and most others don't have this -

It looks like a tritax but I'm thinking it would have a makers mark, if it hasn't a makers mark then chances are it's from china

Was thinking ASV, just because of the "AS" part number on it, but it doesnt look like an ASV (maybe an old model).

It does look like these ones though (wrong colour though I know):

it looks absolutely identical to the levers i have on mine that also have as-521 on them. i bought them from ebay, they were chinese in origin, cost around £17 iirc and were indeed advertised as ball bearing adjusters. they have been great, feel well made and are a good fit.
is it clean enough?

Bah, no sooner did I reply to this than I found what make it is - "Trak-tech" and supposedly only 'mandp' sell them in the UK. But I have found other places online selling these levers, so armed with the part number for the clutch lever 'AS-514' am phoning around to see who has one.

Here is a pic of the matching clutch lever -

Ah yes they look very simlar, have messaged the seller to see if they do them in all silver with the red adjuster.

Got the item number so I can see if the seller still stocks them..?

nope, ebay doesn't keep detailed records records of purchases for items over 90 days and i bought the levers around 4-5 years ago. i have searched ebay but that exact design doesn't seem to be listed any more.
is it clean enough?

Not anymore they don't, not since "that mysterious fire that burnt down their whorehouse" a year back. I asked the sale guy where they(MandP) got them from and all I got was excuses.

Busters and mandp (as was the now defunt MPS) are owned by the same company.

I will see if the people on that link mickvp gave me will be able to help out.

I got mine from this place http://shop.the2wheels.com/ they look good and fit well, about £37 inc. postage, from the land of egg fried rice IIRC.

Unfortunately they don't appear to sell the same shape and look though and the HMRC will add VAT onto the (price+shipping+insurance on the shipping) - effectively doubling the initial price. If I wanted that type/look of lever I can get them over here.
