Seaside ride out (Kent)
« on: 20 June 2014, 08:29:49 pm »
Myself and Midden and hopefully Dazza are heading out to the seaside after work on Thursday 3rd July.

I was thinking Folkestone, via the Wingham Bends (just outside canterbury) for some seafood, fish and chips and maybe a shandy.  (over venues are available, Rye, Hastings, etc.)

Who fancies it?

Would be good to have you on board Maxzer.  I work in Canterbury, Midden is Gravesend and Dazza near Sittingbourne so we'll find somewhere for us all to meet.  Maybe Canters (because I'm lazy (and I think Dazza will like the Wingham bends)).

What time set off did you have in mind and where from?  I work in SE1, but with a bit of notice could probably leave early (4pm odd). I guess that's still ample time to have a chippy tea at seaside.

A chipy tea is the whole point af the ride....Midden could easily die of starvation between Gravesend and the seaside, so sustinance is a must, we can't have a man down!
Time wise, I finish at 5 (working in Canterbury), so whatever time people can all make depending on when they get out from work etc. If you leave London at 4ish you'll deffo have time to meet up with us somewhere.  I'd say meet me in Canters around 5.30, something like that and we'll go from there.
I'd say, if you are coming down the A2 from London, grab Midden at Nell's cafe (Gravesend).

Oh dear, Clearly we couldn't trust our lives to you on a expedition to the Pole.  It's Arfa who could die of starvation,  I'm packing for a long winter ;)

That looks like the Isle of Grain across the water so Lower road, Gillingham, or further along towards upchurch I would say.

Looks like there's a school strike going on Thursday. Hopefully still be able to juggle stuff and make it, but slim chance I'll have to play Daddy daycare. Will let you know tomorrow or Thursday morning.

Scratch that, school strike is next Thursday. Should definitely make it. Midden: meet you at Nells Caf at 5.30pm ish?

I won't be able to make this. Promised my daughter I'd go to watch her in her school play.  Hell hath no fury like a ten year old girl scorned.  :lol
Having a little jaunt out on Friday though if this fits in with people better.
