Fazer 1000 to Fazer8?
« on: 05 May 2014, 08:51:54 pm »
I am seriously thinking about trading in my gen 1 fazer 1000, which i have had for six years, for a fazer8.
Has anyone else done this? Any real regrets? Will i miss the power of the 1000?

Depends how you ride! Had a 5PW R1 for 10 years so bought a Gen 1 Fazer 1000 to back it up and share miles, which I loved, but as I am 5'6" and 9 stone, found it a tad awkward at times, so changed to Gen 2 Fazer 1000 which was a huge mistake, thirsty, small tank range, not half the bike, so bought Fazer 8 which is brilliant for me, same fuel consumption as R1 and Gen 1, 55mpg and decent tank range, a lot of fun, had it around Brands Indy a couple of times, been over to France and did SAM Rally last year 550 miles in a day.
[/color]Just had 12,000 service and bonus is I still get to ride the R1 as I gave it to my son with nearly 60,000 miles on the clock and he commutes daily to Thurrock as well as fun stuff and I still get to ride it when I can prise it off him! :D
