High End missing
« on: 19 April 2014, 07:20:37 pm »
Afternoon all! I Finally got the fazer back from the garage today after quite a bit of work. All ses to be running well after an 80 mile ride around Brecon, but I did notice a bit of hesitance at the top end when overtaking a car on the motorway. I took it up to around 9.5k rpm and it was pulling like a train, then suddenly it felt like it hit a brick wall and it started missing, opened the throttle a bit more and a suddern surge of power! It's very strange, was wondering if the HT leads or rectifiers could be breaking down under heavy load??

Sounds like it's dropping a cylinder, after its warmed up spray/ throw a bit of water on the exhaust headers, if one takes longer to dry off that points to the cylinder with the problem
Some say...

Anyone know if the coils can cause this?? Anything I can do to diagnose the issue?

Looks like air filter problem to me. Some say this is hiflo air filter issue. Just my two cents though..

Not sure yet, Ive changed the plug caps to new NGK's from M&P, also adjusted the TPS as this was showing 10k rather than 5 so I will hopefully find out this weekend. :)
