Exhaust downpipes
« on: 30 March 2014, 03:07:34 pm »
Hi  guys, I am a brand new member... just had my MOT done (just about) and was told I will need a new exhaust ...  :'( Can I repair my exhaust (not temp.)? Looked at "Motad", "Delvic" and "Sandy parts". Suggestions? Also I need a new TPS unit ...  :eek  Thanks for your help in advance ...

Hi welcome to the forum.

The questions you're asking have been answered quite recently in the 600 section so try having a look there.

Get some pics up too.  ;)

Chris

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.

Apologies for not replying earlier ..  :rolleyes
The revcounter needle swings from idlespeed to 3000 than to 0 and than 10000. This is constant either when the bike is idling or I'm riding. Other than that the bike is behaving normally.  :rollin Still not convinced that its the TPS. But you never know ... if it is ... does anyone know where to get a new/secondhand one? Thanks guys ...

Read this post I put up some time ago http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,8367.msg82385.html#msg82385.

The 3000 rpm is the TPS fault code.

Hi guys, received my used TPS yesterday. Unscrewed the old A2 replaced it with an A1. Waited till it settled to 5000rpm. Switched ignition off and on again and so far it works. So pleased ...  :D . Thanks to all of you for the advice given me  ;)
