*Please Read* - Front Fairing prices. Foxeye
« on: 09 February 2014, 11:05:07 am »
Just wanted to share this with the forum. The Yamaha "Foxeye" front nose cone has significantly reduced in price. Yamaha have updated all there prices. Its been reduced from £450 to £180, If you don't  believe me check with your local Yamaha dealer. When they acutally place the order they will see the revised price. of £180...Ring Yamaha UK also if you are in doubt. The price is £180 not £450....

Yes painted, but without stickers, those are extra. Yes buy one just for the incase. because you no as well as me.. the first thing to go in a spill is that front fairing. and the generator cover, everything else is well tucked away

That's just what I was thinking ??? It would definitely be worth getting one of these at that price for a 'just in case' .
Yamaha Fazer 'the only bike you'll ever need' maybe ???

Doh! Just recently bought a knock-off GRP one unpainted! Been quoted around £120 to get it painted, may as well just order one of these and keep the GRP one as spare...

Sorted, all ordered from Sondel Sidcup. Bit more local, so can go collect it. That saves me hunting down a spray shop for my knock off fairing. Thanks for the heads!

FWIW: current prices for decal are £56 + vat, centre main stay is £160 odd + vat.

Did you buy decals? Does anyone know how easy these front fairings are to fit?

I left the decal, at nearly £70 I decided against them. There was also a thread on here a while ago which seemed to imply that the Yamaha decals are intended to have a coat of lacquer over them. Without which they may not match other decals already on your bike and raises a question mark on their longevity.

I didn't see that thread. But that's not true. There is no lacquer over the stickers. If this were the case the fairing would come with stickers already on. The stickers peel off the original fairing. Just remember though the first sign of a crashed fazer is missing fairing stickers!!

Bugger, when someone knocked over my bike and trashed my old fairing it cost about £300 last year to get it replaced although that included decals and everything. It was paid for by the person who did it's insurance thankfully for me as there were witnesses and CCTV evidence. Swapping over the fairing is very easy just take your time, there are a couple of tricky to get to screws that you need a short phillips screwdriver for and getting the rubber lugs out for the screen can be annoying but other than that no worries at all.

This will be the fifth fairing for my Fazer that I've owned in 4 years. I wrote off the first one years ago, and have since had the bike knocked over/attacked whilst parked up damaging a further two. That leaves me with this brand spanking new one and a lightly damaged one I bought as a spare. They all live in the loft, I'm running out of space now
