Good morning sunshine!
« on: 03 May 2014, 07:25:25 am »
What have you got planned for today? The sun is up & Rhondda red is anxious to get her tyres warm!
Going to ride towards Peak District today, Worcestershire tomorrow & Stratford on Avon Monday-well that's the plan.

I'm heading to Bala to take place in the Rali Robin Jac, a ride in memory of Robin Jac Edwards. He was a competitor on the Isle of Man from the 1930's to the early '50's and lived in Llanuwchlyn, a village at the Dolgellau end of Bala lake. Village hall open for tea and cakes, then a ride around Robin's training roads.
Sunny, around 6 degrees at present.

Thanks, Dave. Have a good and safe ride yourself. You'll have to let me know when you are coming to Bala and Vyrnwy. A possible meet up for a cuppa. By the way, I'm from Wolverhampton, and am in the Midlands on a regular basis. Living in Wrexham for many years, but still a Black Country boy at heart.

Plan for today:
Jump on the bike.
Ride some A/B roads.
Fill up at a petrol station.
Ride a few more.
Find a cafe for a brew and a butty.
Get my phone out and figure out where the fuck I am.
Ride home.

Last time I did that I ended up in Devon.  :D

Soon as I sat on it, it felt right, ergonomics not a lot different to the GEN1 (seat to peg position), felt at home on it right away, but my god what an engine and brakes.

No fairing but short screen and clocks kept the wind blast at acceptable levels when holding european touring speeds , brakes seriously powerful but with plenty of feel. Rally nice Akropovic pipe with serious growl and nice burble on the overrun

Only problem, the price, the one I tested, the sport, had the Akro pipe, quickshifter and active suspension and was over £12K plus the salesman told me he sold one yesterday for delivery in November and won't find anymore in the UK until next year.

BikesSafe course this morning at Huntingdon - Great experience (thanks very much to the officers that gave up their day off) Looking forward to the assessed ride out next week!  :)

Tomorrow - meeting up with my mate who's recently taken delivery of a BMW S1000R fora ride out to the coast.

Happy Days!!!  :D
