Ripoff Britain~ plumbs new depths
« on: 02 November 2013, 05:34:30 pm »
.....Or the strange case of the disappearing biscuits.

From top to bottom Xmas 200xx, 2011,2012,2013 biscuit boxes, contents shrinking year by year.Note the contents weight carefully.

If you're gona rip me off, at least do it fairly. ;)

On a more serious note, there's no longer enough jammy dodger types included to go around!!  :(

That's the way the cookie crumbles.... :\

I was dismayed to find this morning there had been a fight in my biscuit tin. The Bandit hit the Penguin over the head with a Club, tied it to a Wagon Wheel with a Blue Ribbon and made a Breakaway in a Taxi.

Asda used to do a £1 Toad in the Hole that had 8 sausages in it. They now do a £1 Toad in the Hole with 6 Sausages... :(

I toured Romania this year, where they sell a lot of stuff by weight, in kg.  I was in a small rural shop where they sold various biscuits loosely, not in packets. When I asked for 4 of those and 4 of those, by 4 she thought I meant 1/4 kg  :lol

Enough snacks for a few days

Those were the days-BIG Mars Bars for 3d (old money) circa 1955!
even my local Poundland has downsized-everything now 95p thanks to competitor down the road!
Cant seem to reduce my energy bills though-waiting for British Gas to downsize their Therm or whatever they call it.
Only upside of less biscuits is less weight for bike to haul so better mpg! :lol

Don't get me started!  I've still not gotten over the great decimalisation rip off!  :'(

For those too young to remember that traumatic period in our history, a shilling used to consist of 12 'old' pennies and there were 20 of them to the pound.  When they decimalised the currency a shilling was in effect 5 new pence and an old penny was made the equivalent of 1/2 a new penny.

So overnight we went from a shilling getting you 12 penny sweets to 5ponly  getting you 10!!   :eek

Did I get a pocket money increase to adjust for this sudden & drastic devaluation of my sweet purchasing 5 bob? No I bloody didn't!  >:

True, I think if I had asked for a cappucino the rest would have been filled with froth.

Another thing, have they told the chickens to lay smaller eggs these days?
